Food is the reason to gather around the same table; people that just before were consumed in their own small world, now become participants of the same tasting experience.
We are Vassilis and Anastasia, and we gave life to “Cookouvagia” for the love of greek food.
Cookouvagia (ku.ku.ˈva.ʝia) Greek for “owl”, was the sacred bird of goddess Athena.
She was the patroness of Athens in whose honor the city was named after; and it’s where we call home!
From Athens we will share with you, all things that excite us!
Greek food is characterized by passion, fresh ingredients, simplicity, imagination and inventiveness.
Although a small country, the history of its food looks like a canvas that each region has added a brush stroke.
Greek cuisine has been engraved with the need of a nation to survive in difficult times, in poor places with no resources, in times of isolation, but also in times of cosmopolitan prosperity.
Through “Cookouvagia” we will travel all over Greece in a journey that starts in the past and comes to shine light into the future!
